Seaside Terrace Garden
This garden in St. Mawes climbs steeply from the house via a flight of granite steps to a south facing site with fabulous sea views over the thatched rooftop.
The clients required a stylish family garden with safe and level areas for children to play, an entertaining space with outdoor kitchen and a summerhouse at the top of the garden to maximise the views. Access to the garden is limited to a narrow alleyway so an imaginative design was required to make use of the on-site materials. The existing walling stone was reused to create a series of level terraces and steps to take you gently through the garden spaces.
A pair of 80 year-old ancient Olive trees provide a sense of maturity to the contemporary planting scheme of sun loving plants.
